Grant News!

Crocker Farm will  benefit from the elementary district wide Science and Technology Resources grant (totaling $10,000).  The Science and Technology Resources grant purchases new science books for all six elementary libraries. These up-to-date materials in a wide range of reading levels will support all elementary teachers and students in meeting the anticipated Next Generation Science Standards, both in the classroom and through independent scientific exploration.

Crocker Farm has also received an $11,000 Excellence Grant from the Amherst Education Foundation, to support our Literacy Initiative. The Crocker Farm Literacy Initiative grant pilots a model for literacy education that can be replicated in all our elementary schools.  Working with Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University, literacy is integrated into the core curriculum, with a focus on technology and co-teaching as a way to improve reading, writing, and communication outcomes for all students, including English language learners and special education students.
